why do girls give guys such terrible advice on how to get a girlfriend?

It seems like their advice is just plain TERRIBLE. They either say change everything about yourself, buy 9999 new pairs of ugly clothes that only one kind of girl likes, and waste time doing this just so the next girl can like something different and have you change something else or they say dont change yourself and just be yourself and a nice guy because girls sure “love” nice guys. Last time I checked guys wouldnt have to or want to put on a fake persona if it wasn’t for the fact some girls were constantly shooting down and bashing their real personalities and im not even going into the nice guy stuff again….ugh
