What would make a 1000 watt subwoofer instantly blow fuses with a sound like BWAAAAAA, like the feedback noise?
Like the feedback from a CB but pushing my sub to its limits at full power and coming through every speaker? A short in the amps board? A burnt out diode? Where should I look for a short first? It is a Logitech Z-5500 Digital Speaker System
Model Number:
S-0115A (Subwoofer)
And I think it may have gotten struck by lightning, it stopped working around that time.
I know how to solder on a circuit board and have a multimeter, know how to use it and I need to know what I should test first if there is no short, and what to test next and what to try as a last resort.
Can I take it somewhere because it is just out of warranty and there is only one real electronics in my town?
Can a car stereo place fix amps?

I am going to take out the amp and look at it magnified 20x, if I dont see any obvious damage and then look for a short in the board itself and then test resistors …?

Whoa this thing has the biggest capacitor inside by the speaker I have ever seen!
It looks like a giant bagel wrapped in copper wire.
Would it more likely be the controller?
Since I dont even get a chance to turn it on then the controller could be causing it?
