Transferring 350mb file Desktop ->Mem/stick ,Why does it take now 12m instead of 2m. Is it the rear usb panel?

additional detail:
One of the reasons i ask about the rear usb panel ( 2x usb, 2x phone-line), is i got it changed last April & i did notice the speeds a lot quicker! could that be the reason & maybe faulty now?
as i’m only mentioning anything that comes to light
I use a 8GB memory stick to connect to a 4 port usb hub which is handy as it has a long connection to the usb panel at the rear of the desktop, as when i connect it through the usb socket at the front it tells me to connect it through the hub or the usb panel as it is quicker.

I have used the 8gb mem stick on a laptop & there is no problem with transferring files
