PSP1001 pandora battery won\’t work.?

I let the battery drain to 0% before I started making it because it was sparking when I tried at first. When I was cutting it open, I didn’t cut the side that you’re not supposed to (the side that connects into the psp) but I did cut into the aluminum base a little bit. I’m trying to figure out why it won’t even turn my psp on. I have a magic memory stick in that I made and I tried all of the combinations of plugging it in and putting the battery in after I turn the psp on and before and everything but the orange light doesn’t even turn on! When I go to battery status, it says it’s only on external battery. I will try to solder the wire that I cut back together but this shouldn’t be an issue because everyone else cuts it with no issue like this. If it doesn’t work after I solder it, then I’m going to order this which should work.
