Inaccurate scale reading!?

I have a Taylor digital scale. Ever since it got wet it has been inaccurate. It says that I weigh 38 pounds more. If I tap on it and then move away it stays reading 38 pounds until it automatically shuts off. I mean, I can still monitor my weight loss by subtracted 38 pounds when I weigh myself but that’s annoying. Has this happened to anyone? Is there a way to reset a digital scale? By the way I did put in a new battery too. Thanks a lot.
