I have a Dell Netbook and I might buy a Tascam DR-05 Compact Portable Digital Recorder and I don’t know what kind of computer I need, what special cords I need, what software I need on my computer, and how to get the audio from the compact portable digital audio recorder on to my computer.

PLEASE HELP! IPHONE PROBLEM! my mic is acting weird.. Works on apps but not when I\’m on the phone?

Thanks for the help this is driving me insane. Ok so I have a iPhone 4 running 4.0.2 n jailbroken w limera1n. My mic works itermittaly on speaker (as in sometimes perfectly clear, others not at all), but flawlessly on apps that require it, such as heytell or tango. Even the voice recorder app works, as it displays sounds the mic is picking up by the needle jumping up n down. When it comes to just plain talkin on the phone, I get no reception whatsoever. It’s rather annoying. I’m debating on fully restoring it due to the fact that my phone has been doing some randomly strange things lately. I’m hoping this is a software, n not a hardware issue since I’ve had my phone over a year now. Incase it is a HW problem, would anyone gave any recommendations on where I should go to replace my mic? An estimation of how much a replacement would cost would b very helpful as well. Thanxs!

Good camera for independent film making and photography?

I’m looking for a camera that has a decent camera but above all, a good video and audio recorder. I plan on making an independent film with my friend, nothing too fancy, so a fancy camera isn’t needed, but after we’re done with this project, I’d like to be able to try photography. Between $300 to $600.

Would the below situation weird out a new employer?

So I just got a new job at the corporate headquarters of a fairly large size corporation and for the past week I have been sitting with a few different people that have been training me. It is a lot of training and I cant always write down the pertinent information so i was thinking about buying a digital recorder (about 50 bucks) and recording everything the trainer says. I would ask their permission beforehand to record them but does anyone think that would weird them out (even me just asking) to record them while they are training me? I don’t want to be the known as the weird new guy that tapes all conversations…

Let’s say I think some one in my home is doing something I don’t like, via the wife, kids, roommates, etc. Is it illegal to record them with out them knowing. If I stuck a voice recorder on the phone or just laying around, do I have to let them know about it? Please respond only if you do know the law on this. I am in Ohio by the way.

How to shoot a music video?

I want to make a music video with friends and I want to know if I need a mic for the seperate audio (I’m getting a new camera so no worries about that) but do I get an external mic, or a audio recorder or whatever? I’m not really sure what to do about the audio. I have an avid studio video editor and the camcorder I have now is a flip so would I just need to record and Avid will do it for me, or do I need something seperate like what I said above?

I need durable recorder that will be used for anatomy. My professor talks a lot so I need one that will fast forward fast enough so I’m not listening to my professor talk in a fast voice while still listening to the whole entire lecture.
