Where can I find tailored, feminine clothing?
As a New Year’s resolution, I decided to be a bit more feminine in my manner and dress. The manner part isn’t too bad (lots of online resources!), but dressing more femininely is more difficult. I’ve noticed in most clothing stores here in America that the shirts don’t have waists. They go straight from the armpits down to the waist/hip area with no tailoring. My waist is one of the few nice features that I would like to show off, so some nice tailored shirts and blouses would be nice. Does anyone know where I can find some clothes that are meant to accentuate the female form? Recommendations for places that carry dresses and skirts would be appreciated too!
I have thought of using belts, but I don’t think that will give me the sleek, streamlined look I’m trying to achieve. If I use a belt on one of the waist-less shirts, then the top and bottom will bunch up and make me look a bit lumpy. Which….isn’t good.
I am going to see a tailor, what do I need to do and what should I expect?

I am going to see a tailor, what do I need to do and what should I expect?
I am tall but have a skinny frame so I have 3 articles of clothing that needs slight adjustments; and this will be my first time to a tailor.
shirt number one has sleeves that are slightly too long… slips down my wrist and the sleeve cuffs seems a little big for me… it rests half-way down my palm where my thumb beings when my arms are too my sides. Should i have the sleeves shortened? the cuffs tightened? or both?
shirt two’s sleeves are perfect but the cuffs (like shirt one) seems a bit loose… but the tricky part about shirt two is that the cuffs on them are french cuffs. anything i should know? will there be any issues?
and lastly i have a wool toggle coat where i want the sleeves to be shorter and tighter.
are what i ask do-able? about how much would it cost? at a mediocre establishment? at a higher end establishment? i live in NYC but if you are not sure but it would be in NYC then just give me the estimate based on your experience.
what will they do to tighten the sleeves and cuffs? will it leave noticeable scars? could i ask that they use single-needle stitching?
and please offer any advice or recommendations that you might have. thank you very much.
