My Pantech Impact volume sucks?

My previous phone was a Nokia 6085 and I never had problems hearing a conversation. My wife and I recently switched to the Pantech Impact. We like having the qwerty keys and such. But like many cell phones, the listening volume during a call SUCKS. After getting accused of “mumbling” during a call and repeating things over and over, I finally hung up until she got home. It had been a month since I switched. So, I decided to put my card back into the Nokia. WOW. Really loud compared to the Pantech. But of course, all the nice features were gone.

Does anyone know of a qwerty keypad/internet phone with really LOUD listening volume?

WHEN USING A skype phone DOES IT EVER CHARGE THE RECIEVER?

I have a friend who’s serving in afgan right now and he called me tonight using skype on my cell (tmobile) does it cost me to talk to him since he’s in another country or is it free to me (besides taking away from my minutes on my plan)
